A live, off the floor album recorded in a lovely getaway cabin on Kootenay Lake, British Columbia. Redgirl – One Match Fire 2011

Released June 11th, 2011, One match fire is a 10 song album that includes 3 original songs, and 7 covers all arranged by Redgirl. Recorded live-off-the-floor over a weekend in November 2010, this debut album from four seasoned Kootenay performers gives us the first peek into the recorded sound of a band moving into it’s adolescence. This album marks a maturing of their arrangements, a thoughtful reflection of the songs and sounds that have inspired them, and a milestone that will serve as a way-point to establish new ideas.

The 4-piece band, with vocals, guitar, drums and bass all recorded live in the same room, at the same time, are sweetened in the studio with some subtle keys, fiddle and whistle playing by some choice local players.

The rootsy-rock sound of One Match Fire showcases the versatility of the musicians they serenade love and house-work in Laundry Line, mourn loss and regret in Patti Griffin’s Long Ride Home, and celebrate the passion of youth in Miss Ohio.
